This is the day of the first earth moving and the start of our new adventure. The earthmovers came in and turned our flat block into a landscaper / retaining wall builders dream.
$5000 in retaining walls required now...another hidden expense.

In Mid 2007, Rachel & Anthony Clark were traveling through the Queensland town of Toowoomba. A day that was supposed to be spent visiting friends turned out to be a day looking at a potential tree change location. We came across a growning township of Highfields, 11km Nth of TWBA. Within minutes of driving into Highfields, we both knew that this would be the place we would spend the next chapter of our lives. With great schools, sports facilities & really nice down to earth people. Welcome.
Welcome
After we decided that we would build in Highfields, the hunt was on to search the greater Toowoomba area for a builder. We spent approx 4 months test driving all of them, from the cheapest to the more expensive. Just as we were about to sign on with a particular builder we were introduced to a builder named Peter Schriek who owns Schriek Building Group (http://www.schriek.com.au/). He had built 3 houses surrounding our current rental home and after forming this friendship we decided that they were the company for us. The standard of thier end product is 2nd to none. As you will see from our blog and our photos, I think you would hard pressed to find a better, more attentive, value for money builder in the Toowoomba area.
